Canadian-based start-up Nu:ionic Technologies has completed a continuous 48-hour demonstration run of its Microwave Catalytic Reformer™ (MCR) to produce low-carbon hydrogen from a variety of feedstocks.
Their agility, tenacity and willingness to take risks, combined with forward-thinking business models, positions start-ups as promising contenders to unlock the ingenuity needed in the hydrogen field, writes Mark Anderson, TechX Director at NZTC.
Update: Rystad Energy this month (March 2024) estimated 40 companies were searching for natural hydrogen deposits at the end of 2023, up from just 10 in 2020.
bp has selected BASF’s carbon capture technology to use at its 1.2GW blue hydrogen production plant in Teesside, the UK.
While much energy, momentum and money has gone into green hydrogen, to the delight of some and the dismay of others, blue hydrogen’s role continues to endure as economies attempt to drive towards a green-tinted...
Shell Catalysts & Technologies has been awarded a contract to deliver a Shell Blue Hydrogen Process (SBHP) license agreement to Trillium H2 Power (tH2 Power).
Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) and Black Hills Energy have received a $16m grant from the Wyoming Energy Authority to fund the development of a coal-to-hydrogen production facility with carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and sequestration.
“The challenges posed by the US 45V legislation offer a unique window for Canada to draw global investments and carve out its niche as a dominant player in the clean hydrogen arena,” H2 View has...
