Covid-19 has helped hurry the automotive industry to a pivotal moment, when operators and motorists decide there has to be an end to ICE-powered vehicles and put pressure on manufacturers to accelerate their rate of product change-over. Equal pressure will be on charging network providers to up their game on installation and charging.
The new Electric Vehicle Awards will honour ingenuity, innovation and overall achievement across the electric vehicle sector, including all types of EVs and the FCEVs that use hydrogen to generate electric power. Categories also cover e-motorcycles, e-bikes (including mobility), e-vans and e-trucks, e-boats and e-aircraft, and electrically powered working vehicles (warehouse, farm, factory, etc.). There will also be recognition of the developments in vehicle charging infrastructure, software and equipment.
The Awards will bring together the talents of a highly expert panel of impartial judges to scrutinise entries and award marks against clear judging criteria.
The closing date for entries is May 31 and the eligibility period runs from November 1, 2019 – April 30, 2021.
A date in October 2021 is planned for an Awards lunch and ceremony to applaud the winners. Date and venue have yet to be finalised (Subject to any remaining Covid-19 restrictions)
