EU pressed to bridge IMO gaps and boost hydrogen adoption in maritime sector
When International Maritime Organization (IMO) representatives concluded April’s climate summit in London, they left with a headline agreement – and mounting criticism.
At the 83rd session, the draft IMO Net Zero Framework was advanced to steer international shipping toward zero emissions by around 2050.
The key measures under negotiation included mandatory reductions in ships’ greenhouse gas fuel intensity, a global emissions pricing mechanism, and the creation of an IMO Net Zero fund.
