100% ammonia power plant hopes to encourage adoption of hydrogen in Singapore

An agreement between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific (MHI-AP), Jurong Port and JERA Asia hopes to establish the hydrogen value chain in Singapore with plans of creating a 100% ammonia direct combustion power plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.

Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the partners will explore the potential of running a 60MW class gas turbine combined plant on 100% ammonia, offering clean energy production.

Coming as the only carbon-free hydrogen carrier, it is hoped the generated ammonia could aid the adoption of hydrogen in Singapore.
