$2.6m Hydrogen Shot Incubator Prize launched by DOE

In the pursuit of low-cost hydrogen, the US Department of Energy (DOE) announced on Monday (June 6) the $2.6m Hydrogen Shot Incubator Prize.

The prize’s aim is to support the DOE Hydrogen Programme’s efforts to identify, develop, and test ‘disruptive’ technologies that reduce the cost of clean hydrogen production to meet the DOE’s Hydrogen Shot goal of $1 per kilogramme of clean hydrogen.

As outlined by Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm last year (2021), Hydrogen Shot is designed to help the US tackle the climate crisis and reach the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal of Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
