20% hydrogen gas grid blending could enable 70.86GW of production, says new European Commission report

The European Commission has released a new technical report that explores the feasibility of blending hydrogen into the European gas grid as a means to decarbonise the continent.

This presents a unique opportunity to drive hydrogen further into Europe’s heart with industrial process and residential areas potentially able to get the clean energy carrier transported through the gas grid.
