$5m available for Californian hydrogen stations

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has announced the availability of $5m in Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust funding for hydrogen refuelling stations.

The VW funding will augment the $45.7m that is currently available through the California Energy Commission’s grant funding opportunity, GFO-19-602 – Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure.

In order to be eligible for the funding, station developers must apply to the GFO-19-602 – Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure competitive solicitation by 5pm on Thursday 30th April (2020).

Eligible applications that propose to purchase and install publicly available light-duty hydrogen refuelling infrastructure that meets the requirements of the California energy Commission’s solicitation may be awarded VW funding.
