AFC Energy claims 85% hydrogen fuel cell generator cost reduction


UK-based AFC Energy has announced an 85% cost reduction in its hydrogen fuel cell generators, a move it says will remove a key barrier to wider adoption.

The hydrogen technology firm said the move would help to encourage uptake of its 30kW fuel cell generators in sectors that currently use traditional diesel units.

It said this was achieved through the adoption of “low-cost stack technology” and by redesigning to reduce manufacturing costs.
