Agfa-Gevaert warns of EU electrolyser consolidation as hydrogen market slows


Membrane maker Agfa-Gevaert expects to see a further consolidation of Western European electrolyser manufacturers as the green hydrogen market slows

The Belgian firm, which supplies its Zirfon separator membranes to a large portion of the alkaline electrolyser market, reported an 18% decrease in sales of the product in Q1 2025 from the same period in 2024.

Overall, the company reported revenues of €242m ($272m) in the quarter, down €8m ($8.9m) on Q1 2024.
