Aker Horizons to supply green ammonia to Germany

Aker Horizons has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with German-based gas group VNG to supply green ammonia from Narvik, Norway.

VGN plans to procure up to 200,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year from Aker’s large scale green industrial hub under development in Narvik. The production capacity is expected to be at 1,000 to 1,500 tonnes per day by 2028.

The green ammonia will be shipped from Narvik to terminals in Germany, before being distributed by VNG to its customers as ammonia or hydrogen, to be used to decarbonise their operations.
