Andritz launches 1GW alkaline electrolsyer factory in Germany


Austrian technology firm Andritz has opened up a 1GW hydrogen electrolyser factory in Erfurt, Germany.

The factory’s gigawatt-scale capacity will correspond to the production of around 160 to 200 electrolysers per year. Andritz has said the output will be scalable, based on customer demand, meaning capacity could increase.

Located on a historic industrial site in Erfurt with strong transport links, Andritz’s new gigafactory leverages existing infrastructure and labour to efficiently produce and deliver electrolysers across Europe.
