Australian consortium explores blue hydrogen as a competitive energy offering

An Australian consortium has come together to explore the feasibility of blue hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in Western Australia for a competitive clean energy offering.

APA Group, Pilot Energy and Warrego Energy are currently working on a study to explore the blue hydrogen opportunity in the region as they hope to boost then Australia hydrogen economy whilst pioneer collaborations.

Under the study, the group will assess the CCS potential of the Cliff Head oil project and additional reservoirs across the Perth Basin, the production of blue hydrogen and the commercialisation and sale of the energy carrier.
