Australian hydrogen refinery project progresses with site acquisition

A site has been secured for a proposed headline hydrogen refinery project, located in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley, Australia.

To be located adjacent to the Yallourn mine and power station, the project hopes to deliver zero-emissions hydrogen, agricultural char and other valuable products.

Environmental Clean Technology Limited (ECT) is behind the major project, and acquired the new site on Tuesday (Nov 23).

Glenn Fozard, Managing Director at Environmental Clean Technologies, said, “This is an exciting day for ECT as we move one step closer to realising the dream of helping transition Victoria’s vast world-class lignite resource away from its traditional high emission use, toward low and zero-emission applications that can deliver a range of economic and environmental outcomes.”
