Boosting the hydrogen economy

As global regulations and businesses push for cleaner energy, hydrogen has become a serious competitor as a stable, low-carbon energy source in the renewable energy grid. However, its production process was not exactly green and clean.

Now, the introduction of technological advances in the water electrolysis process and a range of innovative ion exchange membranes have started a revolution that will finally unlock the true potential of the hydrogen economy.

Hydrogen propulsion’s only by-product is water, making it an attractive source for clean energy. However, traditional methods of hydrogen production via steam or oil reforming and coal gasification result in significant greenhouse gas emissions, and stringent regulations have influenced the market to find cleaner production methods fast, and will consequently continue to do so. Enter the process of water electrolysis. Unlike most hydrogen production methods, water electrolysis doesn’t produce pollution or damaging greenhouse gases as long as the power used comes from a renewable source, making it the go-to method for green hydrogen production.
