California hydrogen stations remain open during coronavirus crisis

The California Energy Commission has confirmed that hydrogen refuelling stations across the state will be open for business as usual during the coronavirus outbreak.

The clarification follows recent local orders in several countries that listed essential services would remain open but did not specifically list all elements of the fuel supply chain.

California currently operates more than 8,000 fuel cell cars, 42 fuel cell buses in operation and 43 retail hydrogen stations.

The California Energy Commission worked with local entities to confirm that all elements are included and that fuel providers will remain open.
