Californian project to utilise hydrogen for renewable jet and diesel fuel production

A California-based project will utilise hydroelectric electricity and carbon sequestration, along with negative carbon intensity hydrogen, to produce low carbon intensity renewable jet and diesel fuel.

Dubbed Carbon Zero, and located in Riverbank, the project is designed to hydrotreat renewable oils with hydrogen from orchard and forest wood waste.

Biotechnology company Aemetis, which is leading the project along with Koch, recently announced that it had awarded an engineering services contract to Worley to support such development.
