Estonian-based Elcogen is partnering with chemical plant engineer Casale to explore deploying its solid oxide electrolyser (SOEC) technology in green hydrogen-based ammonia plants.
Under a non-exclusive memorandum of understanding (MoU), the companies will explore developing projects using Elcogen’s stacks and stack modules in Casale-engineered hydrogen and ammonia plants.
Casale, which has long experience in ammonia production, says by using Elcogen’s high-temperature SOECs, the pair could offer “leading solutions” to the green ammonia market.
