Caterpillar, Microsoft and Ballard Power Systems will jointly explore the use of large-format hydrogen fuel cells to produce sustainable back up power for Microsoft data centres, revealed today (Nov 22).
The project will be supported and partially funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE) under the H2@Scale initiative and backed by the National Renewable Energy Lab.
