Coal India to supply 4.5GW of renewables to AM Green’s hydrogen-ammonia plants

AM Green has signed one of the world’s largest renewable energy supply agreements, up to 4.5GW, with state-owned Coal India, as it scales up production of green hydrogen-based ammonia.

The non-binding memorandum of understanding with Coal India, which is among the largest coal producers in the world, will see the pair explore the supply of up to 3GW of solar power and up to 2GW of wind.

AM Green is targeting five million tonnes of annual green ammonia production by 2030, equivalent to 20% of India’s 2030 green hydrogen targets.
