€300,000 for hydrogen and fuel cell research

The German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg has announced €300,000 of funding for Furtwangen University and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research to construct a modular fuel cell bench system as part of a research project.

For the project, titled Modular Fuel Cell System Test Bench for the H2 Region Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, companies will construct a modular fuel cell system test bench and research development patterns in a fully functional environment under realistic conditions.

“We want to support Baden-Württemberg’s system component manufacturers in developing marketable products for the field of fuel cell technology and successfully positioning themselves in international competition,” said Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister for Economic Affairs.

“Automotive suppliers in Baden-Württemberg can also benefit massively from the increasing demand for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Numerous suppliers are still dependent on the combustion engine.”
