An alliance of seven non-profit and industry coalitions has called on the EU to strengthen its shipping policies to accelerate the adoption of green fuels and close the gaps left by recent international regulations.
In a letter addressed to the European Commission and EU leaders, the alliance argues that recent measures adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) are too weak to meaningfully cut shipping emissions or support green hydrogen and e-fuel in shipping.
