‘Europe’s most powerful’ hydrogen station opens with green supply from day one


H2 Mobility has opened what it calls Europe’s “most powerful” hydrogen refuelling station in Düsseldorf that will be supplied with clean hydrogen from the outset.

The station in Höherweg can provide up to five tonnes of hydrogen per day and can fuel up to three vehicles simultaneously, including buses, trucks, passenger cars, and light commercial vehicles.

H2 Mobility Managing Director, Frank Fronzke, said that thanks to “proprietary technology,” the new station represented the next generation of installations with “more dispensers, greater hydrogen volumes, and significantly higher performance.”

Despite not revealing any details on the technology, he said it would enable “fast, flexible” refuelling for a range of vehicle types.
