Everfuel awarded €6m for establishment of hydrogen production facility in Denmark

The Danish Energy Agency has awarded Everfuel Europe €6m for a project aiming to establish a large-scale, electrolysis-based hydrogen production facility in Denmark.

The HySynergy project, located at the Shell refinery in Fredericia, will install a P2X plant with up to one gigawatt electrolysis capacity. Initial capacity of the electrolyser is expected to be 20 megawatts.

Everfuel will be the owner and operater of the hydrogen production facility, while Shell will be the main off-taker of hydrogen from the electrolyser.

The Danish company will also install hydrogen storage, trailer filling stations and operate hydrogen trailers to supply hydrogen fuel in Denmark.
