Finland could create a large proportion of Europe’s hydrogen requirements by 2050

Finland could hold the answer to generating the required amounts of green hydrogen for Europe to achieve its net zero emission by 2050 goals.

This is according to Fingrid, Finland’s national electricity grid which is aiming to integrate hydrogen into the country’s energy grid and put the country on the map for hydrogen technologies.

Fingrid has already signed more than 5000 MW worth of connection agreements for projects scheduled for completion in 2022–2024. Fingrid has received a total of 150,000 MW worth of inquiries about joining the main grid.
