Five hydrogen plants planned for Italy and the Mediterranean basis

A new partnership is hoping to develop five new hydrogen production plants in Italy and the Mediterranean basis.

Such plans were unveiled last week (4th March) as part of a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Saipem and Alboran Hydrogen.

Under the MoU, the companies will develop three plants in Italy, one in Morocco and a fifth in Albania, each of which will produce hydrogen through the electrolysis process.

Further to the plant developments, the agreement also proposes the development and creation of a green hydrogen hub in Puglia, Italy.
