Fortescue Future Industries achieves its initial decarbonisation targets using hydrogen

Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has revealed today (July 6) that it has achieved its June 30, 2021 targets for initial decarbonisation projects with hydrogen a key factor.

The FFI’s specialist teams have made ground-breaking progress in achieving these goals across several different projects.

This includes the design and construction of a hydrogen powered haul truck and a hydrogen powered drill rig for technology demonstration complete with systems testing.

In addition to this, the group has also successfully produced high purity (>97%) green iron from Fortescue ores at low temperature in a continuous flow process.
