Frankfurt trials hydrogen bus

DB Regio Bus is trialling a hydrogen-powered bus on the streets of Frankfurt, Germany.

The H2.City Gold model, manufactured by CaetanoBus, will run on route 59 via Griesheim to Frankfurt-Höchst and refuel at a special filling station on the grounds of an industrial park in Frankfurt Höchst.

“Emission-free drives in buses are an important building block for the environmentally friendly mobility of the future,” said Guido Verhoefen, Managing Director of DB Regio Bus Mitte.

“At DB Regio Bus, we remain open to new technological developments. We are therefore very proud that with this test, we are at the forefront when it comes to hydrogen propulsion.”
