FT Live Hydrogen Summit asks, is heavy-duty the gateway to hydrogen mobility?

After Elon Musk famously called fuel cells, ‘fool cells’, the FT Live Hydrogen Summit, last Thursday (June 16), delved into the role that green hydrogen could play in the future of mobility.

The Driving Hydrogen session heard more about the fabled chicken and egg dilemma facing the industry, with Rolf Huber, founder and Chairman of H2 Energy, explaining that he believes heavy-duty applications could be a catalyst for the infrastructure required to see mass hydrogen vehicles.

Huber said, “The vehicle manufacturers are saying it’s difficult to invest in more fuel cell cars, but also stations, with station operators are saying there are no hydrogen cars.
