GCF approves $50m for Atome’s Villeta green fertiliser project


The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has approved $50m in concessional finance for Atome’s green hydrogen-based fertiliser project in Villeta, Paraguay.

The concessional finance is part of a broader $630m funding plan for the 145MW Villeta project and is expected to lower the overall cost of capital for the project.

H2 View understands that the support will increase the financial viability of the project, boost the value and attractiveness of Atome’s equity stake and help the project compete in the fertiliser market by reducing operating costs.
