GeoPura and Extreme H trial new hydrogen unit with increased power capability


Extreme H has successfully tested GeoPura’s new Hydrogen Power Unit (HPU2) ahead of its upcoming racing championship, demonstrating five times the power capability of the previously used Extreme E system.

The testing of GeoPura’s unit took place at Siemens Energy’s UK facility in Newcastle and included system integration with the series’ long-term sustainable power supplier, Power Logistics.

The next generation hydrogen-powered generator can reportedly deliver up to 50MW of power when deployed at scale, with each unit capable of providing 50okW of clean energy, at electricity-five times the prime output of HPU1.
