Government of Québec allocates $15m for green hydrogen developments

As part of its 2030 Plan for a Green Economy, the Government of Québec will devote $15m to the development of a green hydrogen sector in the province.

Marking the first action linked to the Québec strategy for green hydrogen and bioenergy, due to be developed by fall 2021, the funding was yesterday (18th Jan) confirmed by Ministers .

Sharing details of such funds, Ministers said the capital will be used to support technological demonstration projects, particularly in the industrial and heavy transport sectors.

“Québec has several strengths to become a key player in the production and use of green hydrogen, thanks in particular to its large capacity for producing renewable energy,” said Jonatan Julien, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region.
