H2FLY assume project lead role in development of liquid hydrogen-fuelled aircraft

German-based H2FLY has revealed it has been appointed project lead for Project Heaven which aims to design, develop, and integrate a hydrogen fuel cell and cryogenic-based powertrain into an existing aircraft.

Having already overseen the development of the HY4 fuel cell system integration platform, and the aircraft system architecture, H2FLY most recently announced it had kicked off integrating the liquid hydrogen storage system into the HY4 aircraft.
