H2O project awarded £500,000

Hydrogen Hub Orkney (H2O), a multi-partner project led by the Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), has been awarded £500,000 for its Hydrogen Offshore Production (HOP) Project.

Awarded through the Hydrogen Supply Competition, funded by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the capital aims to accelerate the development of low carbon bulk hydrogen supply solutions.

With an aim to tackle the challenges of bulk hydrogen production, the HOP Project will propose viable environmental and economic technology solutions, develop an industrial hydrogen production test site, and market a business case for the transformation of existing offshore infrastructure.
