HDF Energy unveils plans to develop hydrogen power and marine projects in Vietnam


France’s HDF Energy will explore plans to develop green hydrogen power projects in Vietnam as an alternative to conventional power applications.

The plans have been agreed under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in Hanoi with Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC), a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN). Through HDF’s high-capacity Renewstable power plants, the two companies plan to ensure a stable electricity supply across a network of Vietnamese islands.

An additional preliminary agreement was also signed with the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) to promote hydrogen use in the country’s marine sector.
