Hydrogen engines for heavy-duty vehicles set to be focus of joint study

Hydrogen combustion engines for heavy-duty commercial vehicles are set to be the centre of a new partnership in an effort to clean up mobility.

Revealed today (July 8), Isuzu Motors, DENSO, Toyota Motor Corporation, HINO Motors, and Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT), have started planning and foundational research on hydrogen engines for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

The companies hope to further utilise internal combustion engines (ICE) by offering another option to customers which can help achieve carbon neutrality in the mobility sector.
