Hydrogen-powered 4G and 5G coverage to be expanded to US and Japanese markets

A revolutionary hydrogen-powered High Altitude Platform (HAP) developed by Stratospheric Platforms (SPL) will be capable of providing both 4G and 5G coverage to mobile users in the UK with plans unveiled today (Dec 16) to expand to the US and Japanese markets in 2022.

With the UK having been primarily used as a basis for to showcase the technology’s potential in decarbonising the telecoms sector, STL will now use this research to exhibit its potential in Japan and the US in a new report.
