Hydrogen-powered barge to receive battery packs from Ebusco

Ebusco has signed a framework agreement with Oechies Elektrotechniek to supply 10MW of battery capacity to the ‘first’ new build hydrogen-powered inland vessel.

The WEVA Antonie 1 will receive 36 maritime battery packs suitable for a year of inland shipping, totalling a capacity of 1,989kWh and enabling the substitution of a large diesel generator.

Oechies Elektrotechniek will use the first batch of Ebusco Maritime Batteries to power the barge, which will be used to transport salt between Delfzijl and the Port of Rotterdam with a 3,700-tonne carrying capacity.
