Hydrogen-powered drone receives support from the Japanese Government and completes its first test flight

An innovative hydrogen-powered drone, equipped with a D3 Dynamic’s fuel cell system, has received official approval from the Japanese Government to progress the technology and test its suitability in its first flight.

Hydrogen-powered drones could play a big hand in the decarbonisation of future sectors and, with mobility already a key area to decarbonise, the potential of this technology could be significant.

The cooperation with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, has already seen the “first” certified test flight included of a hydrogen fuel cell multi-rotor drone.
