Hydrogen-powered HGVs set for the Midlands through the H2GVMids programme

A bid, dubbed “H2GVMids”, has successfully attracted funding from the Department of Transport’s Zero Emission Road Freight programme and will see hydrogen-powered heavy-goods vehicles (HGVs) in the Midlands, UK.

The bid had been developed by the Energy Research Accelerator with support from EDF, the Midlands Engine and Cenex.

Working alongside industry partners such as Arcola Energy, Toyota, Intelligent Energy and ITM Motive, the partnership will now prepare the ground for a green hydrogen fuelled 44 tonnes truck demonstration programme in the Midlands.
