Hydrogen safety and implementation discussed at Gas Goes Green event

Energy Networks Association today (May 20) held a panel of UK experts to discuss how the UK can ensure hydrogen safety in homes as well as blending into the UK gas pipeline.

The Gas Goes Green panel consisted of Dr. Fiona Fyla from Leeds Beckett University, Mark Horsley, CEO of Northern Gas Networks, Carl Arntzen, CEO of Worcester Bosch and Antony Green, Hydrogen Project Director at National Grid Gas Transmission.

Dr. Fiona Fyla highlighted research that Leeds Beckett University had made into the public’s perception of hydrogen integration into their homes and everyday routines.

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of the research is that many of the members of the public had no issues with the utilisation of hydrogen in their homes and, only when pushed, would they think about safety issues.
