Hydrogen will be ‘cornerstone’ of Sarawak economy


Renewables-flush Sarawak has been reaffirming its commitment to hydrogen at the Hydrogen Economy Forum 2025.

In his keynote address, Sarawak Premier The Right Honourable Datuk Openg emphasised hydrogen as a “cornerstone” of its clean energy strategy.

The Malaysian state plans to capitalise on its abundant renewable energy – particularly hydropower – as well as natural gas, and carbon capture to scale up low-carbon hydrogen production.
