Hyundai Motor Company will introduce technology firm Plus’ AI-based autonomous driving software into its hydrogen-powered Xcient fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV).
In the new concept, the two companies are proposing a holistic hydrogen freight ecosystem. The approach could improve long-haul travel by enhancing efficiency, safety and sustainability through the combination of hydrogen fuel cell technology and autonomous driving capabilities.
The Xcient fuel cell truck features a 180kW fuel cell system, a 350kW electric motor, and 31kg hydrogen storage at 350-bar. Additionally, Hyundai has underlined a range of approximately 248 miles on a full tank, which can be refuelled in 8-20 minutes.
