Hyundai NEXO attempts new speed records

Hyundai engineering teams have attempted to achieve a new land speed record for the NEXO Fuel Cell SUV at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

The record speed attempt of 106.160 mph was carried out by Hyundai America Technical Centre, Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor Company engineering teams.

“I was thrilled with the privilege of piloting these two Hyundai land speed record attempts,” said Dean Schlingmann, Senior Powertrain Engineer and driver of the vehicles at Hyundai America Technical Centre.

“The engineering teams from our US technical centre, Hyundai Motor America and Korea pooled talents and resources to create these eco-focused vehicles for our exciting achievements at the Bonneville Salt Flats.”
