Hyundai to deliver 27 hydrogen-powered trucks to Germany

A Government funded programme, will see seven German companies across logistics, manufacturing and retail receive 27 Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks to be put into fleet services.

Hyundai Motor Company announced today (August 2) that it is set to export the 27 hydrogen-powered trucks to Germany, seeing seven companies deploy the clean vehicles on the roads thanks to funding from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV).

The BMDV funding offers grants for battery, fuel cell, and hybrid electric vehicles, corresponding refuelling/charging infrastructure and related feasibility studies. Boasting a budget of €1.6bn ($1.63bn), the funding is available until 2024 for the purchase for cleaner commercial vehicles.
