INEOS receives €770,000 of state funding for hydrogen feasibility study

€770,000 ($802,900) have been awarded to chemicals manufacturer, INEOS, by a German state to support a feasibility study for hydrogen production in Köln, Germany, which could cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by over 100,000 tonnes per year.

The state Government of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) confirmed the funding is aimed to support the development of a 100MW electrolyser facility for hydrogen production at INEOS’ site in Köln/Dormagen.

H2 View understands, the feasibility study will investigate how the green hydrogen plant can be effectively implemented at the INEOS chemical site, with the state funding covering approximately quarter of the costs.
