JCB secures first full EU type-approval for hydrogen combustion engine


JCB has secured the first full EU type-approval for the use of its hydrogen combustion engine in non-road mobile machinery.

The engine has become the first of its kind certified for use in non-road mobile machinery across all 27 EU member states and other territories recognising EU approvals, such as EAA and EFTA territories.

Issued under Regulation (EU) 2016/1628, the certification confirms the engine meets EU Stage V emissions standards.
