Klaipėda Port to begin construction of Lithuania’s first green hydrogen hub


The Port of Klaipéda in Lithuania will begin construction of a green hydrogen production and refuelling facility suitable for maritime and transport operations.

The Klaipėda State Seaport Authority has received a construction permit and is expected to begin work this month, with hydrogen production slated to start in 2026.

The €12m ($13.7m) project is part of Europe’s Next Generation Lithuania recovery plan, with €6m ($6.8m) co-funded by the EU’s NextGenerationEU facility.
