Anthony Albanese clinched a second term as Australian Prime Minister on Saturday (May 3) in a landslide comeback, hailed as a positive for hydrogen policy by a national trade body.
Just months ago, it appeared that Albanese and his Labor Party would be pushed out of power with polling placing popularity at record lows following global economic pain, tense national debate and growing dissatisfaction.
Hydrogen had also been a key part of debates, with opposition pointing to failed federally funded projects.
However, Labor extended its majority to 87 seats, with the Liberal/National coalition losing 19 seats, including that of its leader, Peter Dutton.
