Land deal could see waste plastic-to-hydrogen facility established in Ireland

County Longford, Ireland could become the site of a new waste plastic-to-hydrogen facility, following a new agreement between Hydrogen Utopia International (HUI) and Fishertown Property Holdings (FPH) for the lease of a 2.6 acre greenfield site.

Located at the Logeco Logistics & Energy Park at Fishertown, Longford, the site is expected to host the ‘first’ operational full-scale wate plastic-to-hydrogen facility in Europe.

H2 View understands the site has its own electrical grid connection and a substation, as well as potential for HUI to utilise existing wastewater treatment facilities. FPH has said it has planning permission to build a solar farm which could be used to power the HUI facility.
