LAVO hydrogen storage system to be trialled in the UK

Australia’s LAVO will demonstrate its innovative hydrogen storage system in the North West of England to highlight how it can support energy storage for the UK electricity network by providing low cost, and low carbon, hydrogen.

Project partner GHD earlier this week shared an update on the project, stating that funding from the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has now been secured to further boost the project.

To be located at the University of Chester’s Thornton Science Park, the project will see the duo showcase the capabilities of a simple, stackable hydrogen energy storage device that is able to supply low or zero carbon hydrogen to a wide range of configurations and applications.
